Our Story

Anya Wu was created because the founder Ijeoma Anyanwu wanted to build a company that incorporates two of her passions – fashion designing and youth empowerment.

Anya Wu’s vision is to be an indigenous trusted fashion brand for the working woman while simultaneously providing less privilege kids with a means to advance themselves and their families by giving them access to quality education through the sales of our dresses.

We create and sell high quality and stylish work and cocktail dresses to match the lifestyle of the ambitious, hardworking woman of today. Our designs are classy with an edge to give you that aura of understated elegance. It oozes confidence and sophistication.
Through the sales of our dresses, we will provide less privileged kids with adequate school supplies.

We decided to start with school uniforms; for every “Black” Anya Wu dress sold, a school uniform will be donated to a child in need through a non-profit organization focused on children’s education.
We have partnered with an NGO called Give Girls A Chance (www.givegirlsachanceng.org) to make this dream a reality.

Together we can make a difference.

Anya Wu – Want More.

    And Then There's Me...

I’ve always loved designing clothes. It may seem a little cliché but to me, designing is like a second skin. I don’t go anywhere without my notepad because I could be doing the most mundane thing and I will notice something random, which will inspire a design and before you know it I’m sketching away. My best designs come from these unplanned bursts of inspirations.

I believe children are the future. I believe education is key to development. For you to want more, do more and become more you need to have the knowledge that you can do whatever you set your mind to do. You can change your circumstances. Basic education gives you these tools. it exposes you to more and broadens your horizon.

I wanted to start a company where I could do what I love to do and simultaneously help children get the right education they need so that eventually they can do what they love to do.

    This is just the beginning.
